Upgrade of the Air Intake System for SGT 600 Gas Turbines at Bidboland Gas Refinery

The installation site of Bedeland gas refining turbines is one of the wet and industrial areas. According to the reports of the Meteorological Organization and also the operator, recently the site of Bidbland experiences very strong fog in the morning in the winter season, which causes the formation of a dust cake on the filter media of the air intake system of the gas turbine units, and the pressure difference of the filters frequently reaches a critical value. In order to solve the problem raised during the visit to the site, by comparing the P&ID and HMI maps of the SGT 600 turbine inlet system and the current inlet system of Bidbland Gas Refinery, it was observed that due to unknown reasons (which can be during the supply of parts or in the stages execution has occurred) separator vanes are not installed. According to the advice of big designers including AAF company, the use of louvres is recommended as one of the stages of air intake filtration for all weather conditions. Finally, implementation solutions including using suitable filters, adding louvres and modifying jet pulse settings were provided.
